Kennett Pike Real Estate.....a stately, beautiful, historical, convenient place to live!  Whether in Delaware or Pennsylvania, living along Kennett Pike (also known as Route 52), is an experience like no other.  The Wilmington & Kennett Turnpike was incorporated in 1811.  In 1916, Pierre duPont conceived of the idea to turn Kennett Pike into a modern highway, with work being completed in 1920.  While there are specialty shops in Greenville, and a quaint village in Centreville, most of the Kennett Pike area and properties maintain their country estate feel. As I, Mary, prepared to show these Kennett Pike Properties for sale, it made me realize how much of my life has been lived on Route 52!  My parents actually both attended AI duPont High School - which was housed in what is now the AI duPont Middle School.  I began my education at Greenville Elementary School (now Stonegates Luxury Retirement Community), followed by AI duPont Middle School, and AI duPont High School! We almost lived in a wonderful estate right on Kennett Pike next to the middle school which had a dumbwaiter and indoor pool that intrigued us as children, and no doubt would have allowed for mischief :).  We ended up moving across Hoopes Resevoir near Vicmead Hunt Club. My life continued to thrive on Kennett Pike, as I took some of my University of Delaware college classes at the Goodstay Center.  The biggest event, though, was meeting my husband and partner in Real Estate, John Luca, at Wilmington Country Club!  Not only did we meet and court there (on the golf course), but we also had our wedding reception there.  Come to think of it, even our wedding night was spent along Kennett Pike at the beautiful, elegant, Fairville Inn (voted Most Romantic Inn in the Mid-Atlantic in 2010)!.  And now we come full circle, with our youngest child having taken woodworking classes at Tower Hill School. our involvement with Centerville Layton School, and I am thoroughly enjoying my jogs along Kennett Pike, especially in Centreville.
